Diclofenac Sodium Injection

  • Composition

    Each 3 ml ampoule contains:
    Diclofenac Sodium 75mg.

  • Indications

    Dycloran (Diclofenac Sodium) is used to treat acute and chronic rheumatic or rheumatoid arthritis; acute and chronic osteoarthritis; ankylosing spondylitis and dysmenorrhea. etc.

  • Contra-indications

    It can inhibit the action of insulin and increase the blood sugar level, can induce hyperpotassemia when co-administrating with potassium-sparing diuretics. Its bioavailability may be decreased by aspirin.

  • Warning

    1. Cross allergic reaction similar to ibuprofen.
    2. Can penetrate placenta. Animal tests show toxicity to fetal mice, but do not lead to deformity, Should not be used by pregnant women.
    3. People, especially the old one, who suffered with hepatic end renal function insufficiency and ulcer, should use this drug with care. During administration, routine follow-up survey should be done to examine hepatic and renal functions.
    4. As it contains sodium, patients whose sodium intake is restricted should use this drug with care.
    5. Interference to diagnosis: It can promote activities of serum aminotransferases and decrease serum uric acid level.
    6. Contains Sodium Metabisulphite. not to be used for asthmatic patient.

  • Dosage and Administration

    For intramuscular use:
    For Adults: 75 mg I.M. once or twice daily by deep intragluteal injection for maximum two days.
    For intravenous Infusion use:
    Maximum 150mg in 24 hours. Must not be given by I.V. bolus injection, By I.V. infusion diluted with 0.9 saline or 5 dextrose infusion solution. In moderate to severe postoperative pain 75 mg infused continuously over a period of 30 minutes to 2 hours. For the prevention of postoperative pain, a loading dose of 25-50 mg should be infused after surgery over 15 minutes to 1 hour, followed by continuous infusion of about 5mg per hour up to maximum 150mg in 24 hours.

  • Storage

    Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from heat & light. Keep out of the reach of children. To be sold on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.
